Poyry Secures Contract for Two Gas Fired Power Plants in Thailand

 

Pöyry’s Energy business group has been awarded an Owner’s Engineering Services Contract for two new Gas-Fired Combined Cycle Cogeneration Plants in Thailand by Amata B.Grimm Power (Rayong) 1 Limited and Amata B.Grimm Power (Rayong) 2 Limited.

The projects will run concurrently with a five month interval between Notice to Proceed for each project. The value of the assignment is about EUR 1.9 million.

The Client is developing two Gas-Fired Combined Cycle Cogeneration Power Plants, each having an output of 120 MW along with 30 t/h of process steam, to sell electricity to the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) under Small Power Producer (SPP) scheme and electricity and process steam to industrial customers in the Amata City Industrial Estate in Rayong province. Each power plant will consist of 2 Gas Turbine Generator Packages, 2 Heat Recovery System Generators and one extraction-condensing Steam Turbine Generator with water cooled condenser utilizing open loop forced, draft cooling tower, along with a full set of balance of plant and interconnection equipment and systems.

Pöyry will perform project management and engineering design review including EPC contract administration and schedule control, factory acceptance test and engineering review, site supervision services including monitoring of construction, erection, commissioning and testing activities. The duration of the Owner Consultancy Services is 30 months.
