LPG Unit at Fajr-e Jam Refinery in Iran Comes Online this Spring

A liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) unit will come online in coming spring at Fajr-e Jam gas refinery in Iran’s southern province of Bushehr.

The plan’s engineering manager, Monouchehr Taheri, made the remarks adding based on the latest information provided by Gas Engineering and Development Company as the operator, construction of the unit has made progress by 97 percent and is approaching its final stage of startup, Iran’s SHANA news agency reported.

He said control system of the unit was the only part that yet to be launched.

Upon completion, the unit will produce 200 tons of liquidated petroleum gas (LPG) and 80 tons of gas liquids per day.

It’s worth mentioning that, launching the unit will also have a big impact on removing pollutants which are the result of flaring gas by the plant. In addition to prevention of flaring gas, the project could generate revenue for the plant.

The Fajr-e Jam refinery has been designed and developed in two phases. The first phase competed by launching four storage facilities and the second phase includes installation and startup of the unit.
