Japan June LNG Imports Down YoY

Japan, the world’s biggest buyer of liquefied natural gas, imported 6.44 million tonnes of LNG in June, down 3.1 percent from a year earlier, the country’s Ministry of Finance said.

Japan’s LNG imports from January to June reached 43.4 million tonnes, down 2.7 percent compared to the same period before.

Most of the June LNG imports came from Australia, Qatar and Malaysia, followed by Russia, Indonesia, U.A.E., Brunei, Oman, Equatorial Guinea, Nigeria and Trinidad & Tobago.
