Oceaneering’s new electric ROV capable of continuous 30-day subsea ops

U.S. subsea engineering and applied technology firm Oceaneering has launched its new electric-propulsion remotely operated vehicle (ROV), said to be designed for continuous 30-day subsea operations.

The Momentum electric work-class ROV features plug‑and‑play sensors, advanced 360-degree vision, automation, strong thrust, and high payload capacity, Oceaneering said.

The company further noted that the ROV was developed using a reliability‑driven, data‑informed design approach that re‑engineered the work‑class platform around electric propulsion to improve efficiency and simplify system architecture.

Designed for 30-day continuous subsea operations, the vehicle enables extended support for drilling, inspection, maintenance, and repair (IMR), surveys, and construction work scopes.
