Aqualis has completed the acquisition of 100% of the shares in SynergenOG, which will be integrated with its design and engineering arm, Longitude. This move enlarges the company’s end‑to‑end technical offering in process safety and technical risk management, while significantly strengthening its presence across Asia Pacific.

Longitude gains broader regional reach and added capability to support clients across offshore and onshore energy and wider infrastructure markets in the Asia Pacific region, with SynergenOG’s team of 45 consultants based across Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Brunei, and India.

Jake Anderson, CEO of Longitude, commented: “We are delighted to formally welcome the SynergenOG team into Longitude and Aqualis. This acquisition strengthens our safety and risk engineering capability and significantly boosts our presence in Asia Pacific.

“Together, we are better positioned to support clients across the region with specialist expertise spanning process safety, technical risk, facilities and subsea engineering.”

The acquisition also gives Aqualis’ affiliate a new in-country presence in Brunei and further strengthens its growing facilities and subsea engineering business, building on its track record in asset integrity management.

Puvan Balasubramaniam, Director and Co-founder of SynergenOG, underlined: “Joining Longitude marks an important next step for SynergenOG. As part of a larger design and engineering platform, we can bring our specialist process safety and technical risk expertise to more clients, in more markets, while creating new opportunities for our people across Asia Pacific and beyond.”

This combined business is expected to create a stronger platform for delivering specialist safety and risk engineering to clients across the region and beyond. SynergenOG’s expertise is seen as highly relevant to Longitude’s work across marine and subsea operations, offshore wind and wider energy development.
