Technip Energies has been selected by Amigo LNG, a Mexican joint venture between Texas-based Epcilon LNG and Singapore’s LNG Alliance, for an enhanced project management consultant (ePMC) role on the Amigo LNG project in Mexico.

“We will provide overall project management, engineering interface management, construction management, and independent project oversight across the development, and act as the key technical and integration partner across the project’s stakeholders, contractors and execution entities,” the French player emphasized.

The company explains that this ePMC role covers the complete 6 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) LNG liquefaction facility, comprising two floating process barges: a pre-treatment barge and a liquefaction barge.

The European engineering firm will provide overall PMC oversight for both barges and their integration. This award marks Technip Energies’ first project with LNG Alliance and its second global ePMC contract for an FLNG development.

The Amigo LNG project’s scope includes overseeing the associated marine facilities, including a quad berth designed to accommodate two LNG carriers and two floating storage units (FSUs), together with the related berthing, mooring, utilities and export infrastructure.

The Amigo LNG export facility is designed to export up to 7.8 million tonnes per annum of LNG. After the project’s 20-year sales and purchase agreement with Sahara Group, Gunvor sealed a deal to buy 0.85 mtpa of LNG for 20 years and International Resources followed suit with a two-decade deal for 1 mtpa.
