The Netherlands: Jongert Shipyard to Present Two New Models at Monaco Yacht Show

Jongert Shipyard presents two new models at the Monaco Yacht Show: the Jongert 500 LE, an exclusive 50 meters long motor yacht, and the 3000 M, a more than thirty meters long sailing yacht with exceptional sailing characteristics.

Privacy, reliability, comfort and performance are the characteristics of these latest models“, says managing director Eel Kant. “This is the new Jongert look.” The idea for both yachts was the outcome of discussions with customers about their dreams and wishes when it comes to the ideal motor and/or sailing yacht. “Our design team, in cooperation with leading national and international yacht architects and designers, has translated these wishes into the designs we now present. We are very proud of the result.” The fact that, in the meantime the first orders have been signed, shows that the customers are also pleased with the new yachts.

Motor yacht with a GT of slightly less than 500

In cooperation with Azure Naval Architects and Guido de Groot, Jongert developed the LE 500, a 50 meters long motor yacht with a gross tonnage of slightly less than 500 GT. The LE 500 is equipped with a hybrid diesel electric propulsion system using Lithium-ion batteries. If desired the yacht can be equipped with fully wheelchair accessibility and/or a lift. One of the many special facilities on board is the telescopic anchor system. This system allows the yacht to be moored quickly and easily in any place up to 15 meters depth. The first two yachts will be built as a special “limited edition”.

Sailing yacht with a 360° panoramic view

The 3000 M has been developed in cooperation with Frers Naval Architects. The yacht has a number of special features. At the back the master cabin has a panoramic view and borders directly on a large beach area at the stern. The steering house has a 360 degree panoramic view thus giving you an optimal outdoor feeling. ‘The speed and sailing characteristics are exceptional’, says Kant. ‘With this yacht you can sail around the world. It is by no means just a fair-weather yacht. Reliability, performance and comfort have been incorporated in one exceptionally outstanding design.’

Customer wishes come first

If required, Jongert can provide a complete crew. Service includes having the yacht ready to sail at the time the owner wants with fridges and freezers fully stocked and a full set of spare parts on board. ‘The impossible we can today. Miracles may take a little longer’, says managing director Eel Kant. ‘That was and still is the way we operate.’

New subsidiary in France

Jongert Shipyard guarantees worldwide 24/7 technical and after sales service. ‘A meeting with our sales manager can take place at any desired location.’ To serve the international customers even better, a subsidiary of Jongert International in the south of France/Antibes has been opened recently. Niels Lensen, a Dutchman who has lived and worked in France for many years now and is familiar with the international yachting industry, will be managing this office.

Solid organization

Since 2009 Jongert Shipyard has been part of the Dutch family business VeKa Group based in Werkendam. This multi-national maritime group operates in almost all maritime sectors. The company has yard facilities in The Netherlands, Czech Republic, Romania, Poland, Ukraine, Bulgaria, China and Serbia. In The Netherlands the VeKa Group owns yards in Werkendam, Heusden, Lemmer, Capelle aan den Ijssel, Rotterdam and Wieringerwerf. Thanks to the cooperation with the parent company the possibilities of Jongert are virtually unlimited. For example, semi custom and fully customized yachts measuring up to 135 meters in length can be built at the facilities in Lemmer.
