China: Lifeng Thickness Measurement Engineering Co Completes TM Job for Vessel FengLi 8

Shanghai Lifeng Thickness Measurement Engineering Co., Ltd has successfully completed the TM job of the vessel “FengLi 8” for Feng Li Group Shanghai Logistics Co., Ltd.

“FengLi 8”, a panamax bulk carrier, classed with Lloyd’s Register, took her intermediate survey with almost full TM scope. For the repair cycle is short, and after communicating with the owner, Lifeng assigned several fully experienced technicians to carry out the TM job in advance during her unloading in Zhoushan, Zhejiang province. For the partly lack of original drawings, they made the specified plan, carried out the job overtime and did focus on suspect areas by the detailed record, then they read over a lot of useful materials from the sister vessel to determine the original thickness of the plate, so as to calculate the corrosion and make the general steel renewal plan for the owner.

When the vessel berthing alongside CIC-Shanghai Lixin Shipyard, It was expected that most of TM job had been completed and easily to make the decision for steel renewal areas, in which the shipyard can start in time.
