A2SEA Signs Renewable UK Offshore Wind and Marine Energy Safety Accord

A2SEA has signed up to the Renewable UK’s Offshore Wind and Marine Energy Safety Accord. A2SEA has always supported and been a member of Renewable UK actively campaigning to establish safety standards in Offshore Wind by utilising voice at events and conferences, ensuring a safe working environment and participating in working groups with Renewable UK and the British Safety Council.

By signing this accord, A2SEA is demonstrating its public commitment and support to deliver health and safety (H&S) excellence in the UK offshore renewable energy sector. This accord is in place to continue to make the UK a leader as a safe and responsible jurisdiction in which to do business.

A2Sea stated its support to a common set of shared values and principles to enable continual improvement in H&S performance.

“Health and safety are central to our work at A2SEA. Our safety management systems follow the ISM code set out by the International Maritime Organisation and the requirements in OHSAS 18001:2008 Occupational Health and Safety Management System. Our safety management systems are certified by DNV.

We have always been active members of Renewable UK and believe that this safety accord will help to share lessons learned, ensure excellence, and set high standards for our industry”, explains Kaj Lindvig, Managing Director A2SEA Ltd.

During 2011 and 2012, A2SEA ran a comprehensive safety culture programme. The aim of this programme was to strengthen the awareness towards individual job safety – but very much also towards colleagues’ and cooperation partners’ job safety as to ensure us working in the safest environment.

A2SEA will continue to support the Renewable UK and endeavour to continue providing a safe working environment for its employees, contractors and clients alike.
