Acta Marine: Pipeline Lowering Process Presented (VIDEO)

Acta Marine, an independent maritime service provider which focuses on coastal and shallow waters, has released a video of the process behind remedial lowering of subsea cables and pipelines.

Because of the relative vulnerability of the pipeline, the vessel is first carefully positioned and anchored, then the trenching begins by removing the soil around and underneath the pipeline.

View on Youtube.

Pipeline trenching is possible up to 20 meters deep, or up to 25 meters using an extendible part.

The whole process is monitored onboard the vessel by a scanning sonar.
