Afai Southern Lays Keel for Coastal High Speed Rescue Vessel (China)

In the morning of October 22th, 2012, the keel laying of Coastal High Speed Rescue Vessel “Nanhai rescue 202” took place at Afai Southern outfitting workshop.

The leaders from Guangzhou Marine Bureau, CCS Guangzhou branch, ship owners and Afai Southern’s leaders together witnessed the ceremony. The four sides’ representatives signed the confirmation of the important date of the ship’s construction.

The vessel is a public rescue vessel of Nanhai Rescue and Salvage Bureau, a wave piercing type of full aluminum alloy catamaran vessel, propelled by twin engines and twin water-jets. The vessel has large deck area, with fine sea keeping, high speed and maneuverability, and with searching and salvaging capacity at night. It can carry 200 rescued people and it meets the related requirements of the CCS rules and regulations for high speed vessels.

The vessel is a south type of coastal high speed rescue vessels and adjusted partially to the environment of the Chinese South Sea.
