Afai Lays Keels for Two Coastal Rescue Vessels

Afai Southern Shipyard has laid keels for two coastal fast rescue vessels, “NAN HAI JIU 203”and “DONG HAI JIU 203”.

Representatives from Guangzhou Maritime Safety Administration, CCS Guangzhou Branch, ship owner and leaders of Afai jointly witnessed the event. The representatives of the four parties signed the confirmation letter of shipbuilding milestone date.

These vessels are the first two of the third batch of costal fast rescue vessels contracted and built by Afai for China Rescue & Salvage Bureau of Ministry of Transport to adopt ship type of full aluminum alloy wave-piercing catamaran.

They also integrate twin main engines and twin waterjets, with large deck area. Their other characteristics include: fine navigability, high speed and maneuverability, searching and salvage capacity at night time. They can carry max. 200 rescued people, and meet the related requirements for fast rescue vessels in accordance with CCS rules.
