Aft Ship of Yard No 302 Arrives at Ulstein

Aft Ship of Ulstein's Newbuild OCV Arrives at the Yard

The tow of the aft ship of Ulstein Verft’s largest newbuild so far, Yard No 302, has arrived at the yard on Tuesday, April 28.

Yard No 302 is an offshore construction vessel (OCV) being built for joint owners, Island Offshore and Edison Chouest Offshore.

Ulstein will now move the 6,500 t section into the dock and connect it to the foreship which is positioned inside the dock hall.

The vessel will be 159.8 metres long with a beam of 30 metres. The deadweight will be approximately 14 000 tonnes, resulting in increased deck area and tank capacity.

The total steel volume for the vessel is about 8.800 tonnes. Of this volume, Ulstein Verft’s department in Vanylven will produce approx. 1,520 tonnes, the largest steel volume delivered to one project from this department, the company informed.

The delivery of the OCV is scheduled for Q4 2015.
