Ageotec, INGV Work on Capturing Gas from Fumarole (Italy)

As part of oceanographic surveys for monitoring the Campi Flegrei Caldera, which involves the Italian Navy and the Italian National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV), Ageotec technicians and INGV researchers of the Portovenere headquarters have collaborated on design and implementation of a particular device consisting of a gas bottle sampler.

This device, installed on the Ageotec ROV SIRIO, will be able to capture the gas from fumarole and will provide, thanks also to video images of the SIRIO, a large amount of information also on deeper sources. The activity will be carried out by Ageotec technicians as part of the delivery and training of ROV Sirio to INGV of Portovenere.
