AGR Appoints New Head of Petroleum Services (Norway)

AGR Group appoints Åge Landro as EVP of its global Petroleum Services division as it refocuses its growth strategy on key divisions.

Åge Landro returns to AGR after a brief break. He has been with the company for seven years, during which he successfully grew the Field Operations Division into a dynamic and innovative global business unit.

During the last year AGR has met several of its strategic milestones. Enhanced Drilling Solutions (EDS) has experienced significant success with its EC-drill solutions and as part of this development it is now in the middle of merging with another highly skilled technology company; Ocean Riser Systems. The merger of EDS and ORS creates a substantial world leading business positioned with a range of unique Managed Pressure Drilling technologies.

More recently, Petroleum Services has been successful in launching its services enabling exploration of oil and gas fields for its partners by combining the full range of exploration and development capabilities packaged together with the offer of operatorship. This has progressed well and has resulted in AGR being the operator of eight licenses in Israel.

By meeting these important milestones, the company has come to a point where the maturity of each of its entities means a new strategic structure is required to facilitate individual focus and growth. For this reason, AGR will now be grouped into three stand-alone business areas going forward – Petroleum Services, Enhanced Drilling Solutions and Tools and Technologies.

Landro said: “Since returning to AGR in May I have spent the majority of my time working with Petroleum Services’ employees and customers to explore how best to move the business forward. I now look forward to developing AGR Petroleum Services into a fast growing and robust business with a selection of unique service and software solutions.”

AGR’s CEO Sverre Skogen added: “Åge Landro has been part of the AGR team for many years and was hugely successful in growing the Field Operations business. I am confident he will now go on to lead similar growth for Petroleum Services.”

Åge Landro will be supported by regional managers in Norway and Russia, UK and Asia Pacific, the Americas, and the Middle East.
