AGR’s well intelligence software nominated for ONS 2014 Innovation Award

AGR’s iQ x™ well intelligence software is in the running for a prestigious ONS (Offshore Northern Seas) 2014 Innovation Award.

iQ x™ is a new addition to the AGR software portfolio and has been developed to simplify the planning and execution of wells. The software utilises relevant public data from over 6,000 wells drilled on the Norwegian Continental Shelf over the past years.

One hundred percent web-based, the system is currently set-up for visual offset analysis, experience sharing and operations support covering database of historic well pressure overview and previous experience. The software tool was initiated by two AGR senior drilling engineers to enable access to analysed and structured previous well data. The software can be conveniently built into the client’s business, enabling users to structure and organise internal experience transfer, knowledge sharing and data classification.

The ONS Innovation Awards were created to recognise the fact that the future of the international oil, gas and energy industry depends increasingly on its ability to develop new technologies and solutions. ONS 2014 show will be held in Stavanger from 25-28 August. There are over 40 entries for the awards in addition to submission from AGR. To qualify, several criteria had to be detailed in the submission form – an overall description, why the technology is innovative, the potential market/industry impact, benefits both to AGR and the client plus HSEQ benefits.
