AHTS Skandi Vega in Statoil’s hands for another year (Gallery)


DOF ASA has informed that Statoil has exercised its first one year option for an Anchor Handling Tug Supply vessel (AHTS) Skandi Vega.

The option includes ROV. According to DOF, the vessel is firm until mid-May 2016.

The company says that the Skandi Vega is a large vessel designed for deepwater anchor handling during demanding environmental conditions.

At 109m long, operating capabilities include a working moonpool, “Safe Deck” manipulator crane system, a anchor recovery frame, a main winch capacity of 500 T and secondary of 170 T and a bollard pull of 350 T.

The Skandi Vega has also an integrated ODIM Anchor Recovery Frame (ARF) and a large working deck area of 1,070 m2.

In addition, one Kystdesign ROV is placed inside the hull’s integrated hangar on starboard side.

The vessel is fitted with a fully redundant Kongsberg K-Pos DP21 Dynamic Positioning System.
There is one HiPAP 500, two satellite positioning systems (DGPS) and a Fanbeam.
