Aker BP Gets Approval to Connect Oda to Ula Field

Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) Norway has granted Aker BP consent to connect the Oda field to the Ula field.

The Oda field, previously named Butch, is located in the North Sea licence PL 405.

The field, operated by Centrica, is to be developed as a subsea facility tied back to the Ula field, where Aker BP is the operator.

The proposed development will include a 4-slot seabed template with two production wells, and one water injection well, which will tie back to the Ula platform.

Oil will be transported via the Norpipe system to the Teesside terminal in the UK, while gas will be sold at the platform to Ula for re-injection into the Ula reservoir to improve recovery.

Oda was discovered in 2011, and the plan for development and operation (PDO) for the field was submitted to the authorities in November 2016.

Production is scheduled to begin in Q3 2019.
