Aker Solutions Kicks Off Snefrid Nord Project

Aker Solutions has started production for the Statoil-operated Snefrid Nord gas development.

Aker Solutions will deliver the single-slot subsea template, a suction anchor and umbilicals for the Snefrid Nord.

The subsea template and suction anchor mooring it to the seabed will be delivered from the company’s facilities in Sandnessjøen in Norway, securing work until April 2018.

The umbilicals will be delivered by Aker Solutions in Moss.

Snefrid Nord was discovered in 2015. Recoverable reserves are estimated at about five billion cubic metres of gas. The development concept includes one well in a single-slot subsea template.

Norway has earlier this month given the go-ahead for the Snefrid Nord gas development as a satellite linked to the Aasta Hansteen field.

Capex for the Snefrid Nord development totals about NOK 1.2 billion.

According to Statoil, the discovery is scheduled to come on stream in late 2019.
