AMEC Wins People Development Award (UK)

AMEC, the international engineering and project management company, has received major oil industry recognition by winning the People Development Award at the 2013 Oil and Gas UK awards.

The People Development Award recognises the outstanding commitment made by an organisation in developing its most important asset – its people.

The judges decided that AMEC provided exception tools and mechanisms to support the career paths of its people and were impressed by AMEC’s high levels of retention and the number of employees who stated ‘opportunity’ as the reason for choosing to work at AMEC.

“Our people are at the heart of everything we do and I am delighted that the efforts we have made to attract, develop and retain top talent have been rewarded,” said John Pearson Group President of AMEC Europe. “We are growing our business, not only in the UK but worldwide, and this recognition will go some way in helping us to recruit even more good people and serve our customers better.”

AMEC’s Wayne Seddon, Head of HSSE for Asset Management also received recognition, having been shortlisted for the Mentoring Award, based on his own personal approach to developing others, and also for developing the first graduate SSHE programme to be recognised by a relevant UK professional body.
