American Gas Association to Host LNG 17

The American Gas Association (AGA) will host the largest global gas event to be held in 2013. One year from today, the 17th International Conference and Exhibition on Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG 17), will bring strategic and commercial leaders and technical experts together in Houston, TX for four days of sessions, workshops and tours of world-leading liquefied natural gas (LNG) facilities.

LNG trade has grown by more than 300 percent in the past 20 years and the industry continues to grow at seven to 10 percent per year globally,” said Dave McCurdy, president and CEO of AGA. “LNG is proving to be a critical factor in helping economies around the world continue to grow in a carbon-friendly manner. As the largest producer and consumer of natural gas in the world, this event provides the United States the opportunity to demonstrate to leaders around the world why we are on the forefront of the industry.”

The more than 5,000 industry professionals attending from 80 countries will hear from top-level speakers, visit with over 200 exhibitors and have a variety of networking opportunities. With a number of senior level global gas industry executives already confirmed to speak, LNG 17 will offer attendees insights into the continuing globalization of the natural gas industry, and significant strategic, commercial and technical opportunities. Additionally, LNG 17 will address such timely and topical issues as LNG as a transportation fuel, unconventional gas as a resource for LNG, the role of LNG in assisting developing economies, and the potential for North America as an exporter of LNG.

This premier global event is made possible by principal sponsor, Shell, diamond sponsor, Baker Botts and others. The international sponsoring industry organizations are the International Gas Union, the Gas Technology Institute and the International Institute of Refrigeration.
