APL Adds New North Asia-East Coast Australia Service

Singapore-based container shipping company APL intends to launch the China Australia Service 3 (CA3), a new weekly service connecting North Asia to East Coast Australia.

The new service will start sailing from Yokohama, Japan, on May 21.

“The new CA3 service will be characterised by its strategic connections across North and Central China, Japan and Korea to the largest cities of Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane in eastern Australia,” Chan Khai Tou, APL Head of Intra-Asia Short Sea and Oceania Services, said.

The CA3 service will call the ports of Yokohama, Osaka, Busan, Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.

Separately, APL informed it has enhanced its China Australia South (CAS) Service with additional ports of call at Xiamen and Nansha in China.

Shipments from Xiamen, Nansha, and Yantian will reach Melbourne in sixteen, fourteen and twelve days respectively, according to Chan Khai Tou.

Sailing from Kaohsiung, the CAS service has the following port rotation: Kaohsiung, Xiamen, Nansha, Hong Kong Yantian, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.
