Qatar diplomatic dispute with other Arab countries will not have a catastrophic impact on LNG market.

Speaking at a press conference, Gazprom’s deputy chairman, Alexander Medvedev said the European market remains separated from the Asian and the US market adding that impact, if any, will not be severe, Russian news agency TASS reports.

Medvedev did, however, note that any issues with Qatari LNG exports could impact prices in the Asian market, where it plays a significant role.

To remind, several Arab countries, led by Saudi Arabia severed all diplomatic ties with Qatar, accusing the world’s largest LNG exporter of supporting extremism.

It was also previously reported that Qatargas has already assured JERA, a joint venture between two Japanese utilities, Tepco and Chubu Electric.
