Australia: Origin Energy’s Director to Retire in October

Origin Energy announced that Mr Trevor Bourne has informed the Board that he will not seek re-election at the Company’s Annual General Meeting to be held on 24 October 2012 and will retire as a Director on that date (at the conclusion of the meeting).

Mr McCann thanked Mr Bourne for his contribution to the Origin Board during his 12 years as a Director.

“We have been the beneficiaries of his business experience in Australia and internationally and his commitment to Origin during his term as a Director. During that period Origin has grown to become an ASX top 20 company with extensive operations and investments in upstream oil and gas, retail energy, including majority ownership of Contact Energy in New Zealand and being a founding partner in Australia Pacific LNG which is constructing the Gladstone LNG project in Queensland. His wise counsel and friendship will be missed by Directors and Management alike”, stated the company’s official.
