Total SA of France is in negotiations to raise its stake in Ichthys LNG Project, according to several media reports.

Total is in discussions to increase its participation from to 30%” in Ichthys LNG project,” Yves-Louis Darricarrere, Total’s president of exploration and production, gas and power said.

Japan’s Inpex and Total made the Final Investment Decision (FID) on the US$34 billion Ichthys LNG Project in January.

The Ichthys Project is expected to produce more than 8 million tonnes of LNG, approximately 1.6 million tonnes of LPG per annum and 100,000 barrels of condensate per day.
