Austria: CARIS Attends ELMF

CARIS Attends ELMF

CARIS recently attended the European LiDAR Mapping Forum (ELMF) which was held in Salzburg, Austria.

During the forum Pelydryn, a hydrographic survey company based in the United Kingdom, presented a workshop focused on meeting the needs of today’s users of hydrographic data using CARIS software.

In order to better meet client demands Pelydryn has worked towards the adoption of the CARIS Ping-to-Chart principle, which is increasingly required by both traditional and emerging users of hydrographic data. Using case studies of recent surveys in Malta and Tonga, Pelydryn’s Processing Manager, Julian Olszewski, presented a summary of the workflow that Pelydryn adopted with CARIS HIPS and SIPS for processing HawkEye LiDAR data. Julian highlighted the benefits gained using HIPS and SIPS, the deliverables and product types generated, plus some of the challenges faced in handling the data. The workshop concluded with a demonstration by CARIS’ Trish Groves showing other aspects of workflows and products using CARIS Bathy DataBASE and CARIS Spatial Fusion Enterprise.
