B.C. Companies Exhibit at OTC

The Province is supporting B.C. companies as they head to the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) 2014 in Houston, Texas, May 5-8, 2014.

The Offshore Technology Conference, held in Houston’s Reliant Center, is the offshore oil and gas industry’s largest and most well-known event for the development of hydrocarbon resources in the areas of drilling, environmental protection, exploration, production development, and innovation and technology. Many of the companies attending OTC 2014 will be involved in the development of B.C.’s marine-related LNG infrastructure.

B.C. companies will showcase their products and services at the BC Pavilion, which is organized by the Ocean Initiatives BC (OIBC), an industry association representing B.C.’s maritime industry. Twelve B.C. companies will exhibit at this year’s show, including nine in the pavilion. B.C. has exhibited in the Canadian pavilion for the past 20 years.

The 2013 conference reached a 30-year high of 104,800 attendees, the second-highest in the show’s history – up 17% from last year. The event saw 2,728 companies representing 40 countries from all over the world. International companies made up almost two-fifths of the exhibitors at the show. A total of 164 Canadian companies attended OTC 2013, including more than 20 from British Columbia.
