Babcock Flagship Trains OPV ARAGUARI's Crew

Babcock Flagship has recently completed training of the crew of the OPV ARAGUARI for the Brazilian Navy; and the ship is now en route from Portsmouth to the port of Rio de Janeiro and thence to her home port of Natal.

The ARAGUARI is the third and final UK-built Amazonas class vessel for which Babcock Flagship have delivered crew training packages. These training programmes have, in total, addressed the training requirements of over 250 Brazilian personnel – with each crew receiving a training package lasting over 12 weeks.

Babcock Flagship’s training package covered all aspects of ship and equipment operation required for safe operations at sea. In addition to specific equipment instruction, Babcock Flagship delivered ship familiarisation courses and comprehensive harbour training and shipboard safety instruction. The final elements of the programme were delivered in conjunction with the Royal Navy’s Flag Officer Sea Training (FOST) organization. This final component included all pre-sea routines and a full range of exercises such as fire and flood at sea, gunnery firings and boarding drills.

Babcock Flagship’s support to the Amazonas class vessels is a demonstration of the company’s ability to design and deliver all aspects of crew training to the highest of international standards.
