Balltec's PipeLOK Assists Red Hawk Project with Pipeline Lift in Gulf of Mexico

Balltec Ltd, the UK based supplier of PipeLOK™ pipeline recovery tools, has successfully recovered pipe sections from 5030ft in the Gulf of Mexico.

Balltec Ltd were contracted by Technip to supply an 18” PipeLOK™ tool to grip an existing gas pipeline in preparation for a cut and recovery operation. The recovery operation involved the PipeLOK™ lifting two sections of pipe to the J-lay tower. For each lift the PipeLOK™ made a subsea connection and disconnection.
