Balticconnector Compressor Station Building Passes Inspection

The commissioning inspection of the buildings at the Balticconnector project’s Inkoo compressor station has established that the buildings were ready for use.

The buildings were inspected by Inkoo municipality’s building inspector and Länsi-Uusimaa Rescue Department’s inspector.

The completion of the buildings on time enables the start of the testing and commissioning of the compressors station’s gas systems. Reaching this milestone ensures that the compressor station will be completed as scheduled,” states Tom Främling, Baltic Connector Oy’s project director.

Installation work of the compressor station’s gas piping and equipment have also been completed. Gas system testing will begin at the end of July and will continue to the beginning of September. This will be followed by gas system commissioning and test runs. The trial run of the compressor station will end at the end of October after which the station is ready for use.

It is great to see how the milestones of the different project sites are reached and work is progressing on schedule. A big ‘thank you’ is due to the professional contractors and project personnel,” said Herkko Plit, Baltic Connector Oy’s president and CEO.

The Balticconnector pipeline will be fully ready at the end of 2019, and gas will start to flow in the pipeline on January 1, 2020.
