Barakah nets pipeline gig from Petronas

Barakah Offshore Petroleum of Malaysia said that its unit, PBJV Group has secured a contract from Petronas Gas related to repairs and maintenance of the Sabah-Sarawak gas pipeline network.

The Sabah-Sarawak gas pipeline network links Sabah Oil and Gas terminal in Kimanis, and Petronas LNG Complex in Bintulu, Sarawak. The length of the pipeline is 503km.

In a filing to the stock exchange on Wednesday, Barakah said the scope of the contract included inspection, testing, repair and maintenance of the pipes and related infrastructures to maintain the pipeline integrity.

The contract duration is for two years from December 1 until November 30, 2017, with an option to extend for an additional year.
