Bechtel Completes Pneumatic Test in QCLNG Tank

LNG engineer Becthel said that the company’s team on the QCLNG project in Australia has completed pneumatic testing in one of the tanks last week as part of the integrity testing taking place.

It took about 18 hours to pump enough air into the tank through compressors to reach the testing pressure of 1.91PSI, which is about 25% more pressure than the tank will experience at any time during operations, according to Bechtel.

The pneumatic testing was another success for the QCLNG Project, and a first for Bechtel in Australia,” the company added.
