Bechtel’s 2014 revenue drops

LNG engineer Bechtel said its revenue for 2014 totaled US$37.2 billion, down 5.6 percent from 2013.

Bechtel’s backlog last year was at US$70.5 billion, as compared to US$88.2 billion in the same period a year ago.

Among the notable projects in 2014, Bechtel mentioned the first cargo of LNG for export from Curtis Island which was delivered on schedule for its customer, Queensland Curtis LNG, a BG Group company.

Bechtel also said it had the best safety performance in the company’s 117-year history with the lowest recordable incident rate.

Eighty-five percent of all locations completed the year without a single lost-time incident, and 11 of its projects recorded more than 10 million or more safe work hours. the company added.
