Belgium LNG Tanker Due at Zeebrugge May 3

The Methania liquefied natural gas carrier, with a capacity of 145,702 cubic meters, is due to arrive in the Zeebrugge LNG terminal on May 3, according to port data.

The liquefied natural gas carrier will probably load in a re-export cargo and depart from the Zeebrugge terminal on May 4.

Fluxys of Belgium, the operator of the LNG terminal, said recently that the high level of natural gas supply in Europe combined with high demand for natural gas in South America and Asia have resulted in heavy demand for loading services at the Zeebrugge terminal over the past two years, with 21 carriers loading in 2013 and 25 in 2012.

The 21 vessels that berthed for loading in 2013 took on board a total of 1.1 million tonnes of LNG.
