Belgium to receive LNG shipment

Belgium’s Zeebrugge terminal is expected to receive a cargo of liquefied natural gas from the world’s largest producer of the fuel, Qatar.

NYK’s 177,000 cbm Grace Dahlia departed from the Qatari port of Ras Laffan on December 7, and is set to dock at the Fluxys-operated terminal’s jetty around December 28, shipping data reveals.

The Zeebrugge terminal that mostly imports liquefied natural gas from Qatar has an annual throughput capacity of nine billion cubic meters of natural gas.

A second LNG jetty is currently being built for both loading and unloading at the LNG terminal. Starting next year, it will be able to accommodate ships with a capacity of between 2,000 and 217,000 cbm of LNG.
