BG set for first QCLNG cargo on December 20

BG’s 8.5 mtpa QCLNG project in Australia is expected to ship first cargo of the chilled gas soon.

Reuters cited an unnamed source at the company saying that the LNG project, one of three located on Curtis Island off Gladstone, will export its first cargo on December 20.

UK-based BG recently said that the LNG project remains on schedule for first gas in the fourth quarter of this year and within the Phase 1 budget of $20.4 billion.

The two-train LNG plant on Curtis Island will receive natural gas from production wells in southern Queensland via a 540km pipeline.
