BGR to Charter Survey Vessel for Panorama 2

The Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources (BGR) from Hannover, Germany plans to hire a vessel to conduct offshore geophysical surveys.

BGR has invited tenders for the provision of a research vessel, intended for the Institute’s project “Panorama 2” which includes conducting 2D reflection multi-channel seismic (MCS), magnetics and gravimetry surveys.

The institute plans to use sonobuoys at selected seismic profiles, and to carry out  multibeam sonar and sediment echosounder mapping.

Furthermore, BGR will optionally conduct geological sampling with a gravity corer and (MUC) with aim to study the structural composition of sedimentary basins and crust. The measurements are to be carried out for a period of 20 calendar days during the period August 15, 2015 to September 30, 2015.

In addition to this contract, the AG reserves the right, when available, for an additional 10 calendar days in case of bad weather and other unforeseen circumstances.

The deadline for submission of tenders is April 20, 2014.
