According to the company, transition piece number 72 has been loaded onto the barge in Aalborg and is ready for sail-away towards the 605 MW wind farm.

In total, 432 cans have been rolled, welded, painted and outfitted during the last 12 months, Bladt said.

“It has been a pleasure to work closely together with the team from Vattenfall. This project has clearly been executed with a common goal for the benefit of the project,” said Torben K. Christensen, Senior Project Manager at Bladt Industries.

Van Oord’s heavy lift vessel Svanen installed the first foundation at Kriegers Flak in mid-May.

The monopile foundations will support 72 Siemens Gamesa 8.4 MW turbines installed in the Danish Baltic Sea some 40km offshore.

Once commissioned, the 604.8 MW project will become Denmark’s largest offshore wind farm.
