BlueShift Gets Patent for RPC

BlueShift Mechanical Design, Inc., a company designed to solve complex engineering problems with simple technical solutions, announced that it has been granted patent #8,555,977 by the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

This first-of-its kind technology was created to respond to emergency deep sea oil spills.

More specifically, the Remotely Operated Redirection Plenum Chamber (RPC) is designed to capture liquid and gas multiphase and or mining slurry under the extreme pressures found in deep underwater environments.

BlueShift is proud to contribute to safe offshore exploration. In addition to providing a surface transfer capability, The RPC includes an emergency shut-off valve. This can be engaged in moments to stop the flow to the receiving vessel.

The RPC is also equipped with a quick disconnect, in the event of heavy seas or safety concerns this allows the surface vessel to shut down the RPC and return later to resume operations safely and economically.
