The vessel is providing accommodation and walk-to-work (W2W) services to Adwen’s turbine electricians during the annual maintenance campaign of offshore wind turbines.

The Ampelmann E-Type E 1000 gangway will be used for transferring the workers from the OCV to the turbines at the undisclosed offshore wind farm and vice versa, BOA said.

The company has engineered and designed the pedestal, which was installed onboard the vessel to integrate with the W2W self-stabilizing heave compensated gangway system.

In addition, the gangway can be transformed into a crane boom with up to 1000kg lifting capacity at a 30m range, while a boat-landing is installed for boarding from the vessel, escorting personnel to or from shore, the company said.

BOA Sub C is capable of accommodating 153 persons and can achieve a maximum speed of 17 knots. The vessel comprises a 2,500t carousel and has a gross tonnage of 16,562 and a 400t active heave compensation (AHC), in addition to a 30t AHC auxiliary crane.
