BP taps TechnipFMC for Atlantis project work

TechnipFMC has been awarded a significant integrated engineering, procurement, construction and installation (iEPCI) contract by BP for the Atlantis Phase 3 project located in the Gulf of Mexico. 

BP on Tuesday announced it had approved the expansion of the Atlantis field. The $1.3 billion Atlantis Phase 3 development will include the construction of a new subsea production system from eight new wells that will be tied into the current platform, 150 miles south of New Orleans.

Following final investment decisions from all partners, TechnipFMC said on Wednesday it would manufacture, deliver and install subsea equipment, including subsea tree systems, manifolds, flowline, umbilicals and subsea tree jumpers, pipeline end terminations, subsea distribution and topside control equipment.

This contract also includes provisional services for tooling and personnel required to install the hardware.

For TechnipFMC, a “significant” contract is worth between $75 million and $250 million.
