Britoil Offshore’s new PSV launched

Business & Finance

Ulstein has reported that Britoil Offshore Services’ first of two PX121s, Britoil Power, was successfully launched this week.

Britoil Offshore Services entered into a contract of design and equipment packages for two platform supply vessels of the new PX121 design from Ulstein in 2012.

“Launches are always exciting, but this one was extremely smooth,” says Ulstein Asia manager Gunnar Haug.

According to Ulstein, Britoil Power entered the sea with ship launching airbags. The launch took place at PT. Britoil Offshore Shipyard in Batam, Indonesia where she is under construction.

Ulstein says that Britoil Power’s sister vessel Britoil Energy is expected to be launched in February 2015.
