Bulker Grounds in Parana River, Hinders Navigation

The 58,750 dwt bulk carrier Globe Trinco has run aground in the Parana River, Argentina and is disrupting navigation in the area, according to the country’s maritime agency NABSA.

The 190-meter-long ship encountered trouble at KM 401 of the Parana River near Rosario Port on December 8 during its downriver navigation.

At the time of the incident the bulker was travelling to the Recalada anchorage.

According to AIS data provided by Marine Traffic, the 2008-built vessel is still grounded at the site.

Prior to the incident, the vessel, operated by Greek Sea World Management and Trading, travelled from Argentina’s San Lorenzo to Rosario.
