Bureau Veritas Secures CNOOC Contract for Shanghai LNG Project (China)

Bureau Veritas has been selected by China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) to provide independent inspection services for a new Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) receiving terminal project, being built near Shanghai.

This major project is a key element in China’s energy strategy. It will enable LNG produced in Malaysia to be transmitted to the East China economic hub of the Shanghai region and beyond. Once complete it will be capable of receiving six million tons of LNG per year.

Bureau Veritas has been awarded a 3-year contract by CNOOC to provide independent inspection services. The focus will be on ensuring that the entire Shanghai LNG project, including facilities and equipment, complies with all applicable laws, standards and specifications.
