Canada: Trawlercat to Construct First Anti-piracy Personal Escort Vessel

Canada - Trawlercat to Construct First Anti-piracy Personal Escort Vessel

In pursuing efforts to construct the first purpose-designed anti-piracy personal escort vessel, PEV, Trawlercat Marine Designs is endeavoring to find joint venture partners to take part in this project.

New PEV design features a new surface piercing bow and hull form. Due to Epoxy Resin Infused Carbon Fiber and Kevlar Foam Sandwich construction, the vessels are consistently light and strong for more speed and better economy. The PEV is designed to provide escorts for up to 20 ships proceeding in a convoy. There are two designs available.

The Stealth Interceptor, the ultimate escort vessel for long range escorts with high speed capability, is provided in a grey color what creates the element of surprise to chase pirates away. It is also ideal for offshore oil rig protection and any type of armed maritime security or surveillance.

The second type, the Visual Enforcer, can be obtained in “See and be seen Yellow” or “Safety at se Orange” . The bright color makes the Visual Enforcer visible and is ideal for Ship Convoy Escorts which is the following step in escorting large numbers of ships safely through pirate infested waters.

Four to six crew members can live in the comfort of this 20m x 7.6m catamaran for weeks or months at a time. Concealed before and after armored firing positions with optional open top deck 50 caliber machine gun location, this is a formidable fighting platform that will keep pirate away.

Trawler cats are first and foremost designed and built for safety and comfort, followed by performance and their long range capability.
