Capita Health and Wellbeing has announced that it has signed a £6m, three-year contract with Wood Group PSN.

Capita, WoodGroup PSN pen occupational health deal

Building on Capita’s existing relationship with Wood Group PSN, the new contract will provide all of the company’s occupational health service needs. Wood Group PSN is one of the world’s largest provider of brownfield services to the oil and gas industry, with more than 30,000 employees in 40 countries, both onshore and offshore.

The contract with Capita will allow Wood Group PSN to enjoy the benefits and synergies of a single, seamless, managed service from a single occupational health firm, and better-integrated core services, such as medics, occupational health services and international health.

Speaking about the contract Janette Hiscock, managing director energy medical services, part of Capita Health & Wellbeing, said: “Wood Group PSN is a hugely respected firm in the oil and gas industry and Capita has been working with it for more than 20 years. The new contract provides an opportunity for Capita to work as a trusted partner with an organisation that is highly successful and influential in its field. It also shows a huge commitment from Wood Group PSN, both to Capita and, more importantly, the health and wellbeing of its workforce.

“We employ industry specialists who recognise the specific nature of offshore working and the operational and social factors that can affect worker’s health and use the latest technologies. That, together with medics who are specially trained in the offshore environment of the international oil and gas industry, will ensure that Wood Group PSN’s employees receive the best and most appropriate interventions at all times.”

The energy medical services business within Capita Health and Wellbeing has more than 40 years’ experience in off-shore health and wellbeing, is a leading provider of offshore doctors and nurses and supports many of the world’s leading energy companies.
