CB&I grabs Sabine Pass LNG maintenance job

Project & Tenders

LNG engineer CB&I on Wednesday won a general maintenance services contract for Cheniere Energy’s Sabine Pass LNG terminal in Cameron Parish, Louisiana.

Under the agreement CB&I will provide maintenance services including preventive maintenance, repair and testing services for the regas and liquefaction facilities, the company’s statement reads.

Even though in its recent report Cheniere informed that the Sabine Pass LNG project is slightly behind schedule, it is expected that the first cargo will leave the facility during January.

Feed gas is expected to start flowing into the facility during December, and company’s CEO Charif Souki said earlier in September that Cheniere intends to start offering one cargo per month starting with December from its total U.S. LNG production capacity.
