CHC’s helicopter to support Statoil’s ops in Brazil

Helicopter operator CHC Group has won a contract with Statoil to support the oil major’s operations in Brazil.

CHC said on Monday that the new contract with Statoil, one of Brazil’s largest oil producers, would support Statoil by flying to Operational Area BM-S-8 in the Santos Basin offshore Brazil.

The missions will be based out of Jacarepaguá and begin in February 2018. According to the company, the deal is for two years and will be conducted by a Sikorsky S-92 helicopter.

CHC added that the S-92 was a proven aircraft with more than one million flight hours worldwide.

Marcelo Luiz Da Silva Soares, CHC’s regional director for Latin America, said: “CHC is proud to support Statoil’s operations throughout the world. We look forward to utilizing our global standards and processes to taking care of our new passengers in Jacarepaguá when this contract begins.”

In recent news, general counsel and chief administrative officer of CHC Group decided to resign from his post last week.
