Chevron-Operated Tug Sinks Offshore Nigeria

A Chevron-operated tug vessel capsized off the coast of Nigeria early on Sunday, leaving 12 crewmembers missing, Reuters has reported.

The 31.3 meters long ocean going tug, Jascon-4, owned by SeaTrucks Group, capsized due to rough seas while conducting a towing operation.

SeaTrucks’ spokesperson yesterday told Reuters that the search and rescue operations were underway, but the faith of the missing crew is still unknown.

The ship owner did not immediately reply to an e-mail seeking comment, sent by Offshore Energy Today.
