China: CIC Boluomiao Shipyard Repairs MV YUE DAO JUN 1

Workers of CIC Boluomiao Shipyard completed the repair work of M/V “YUE DAO JUN 1” successfully with good quality and sound service ignoring the high temperature and awful weather. Thus, the vessel was redelivered smoothly on Sept. 8th.

In order to complete the repair work with good quality and prevent the heatstroke simultaneously, The leadership of the shipyard tried many measures and finally made the decision which is “handling the two period in the morning and the nightfall, having rest during severe sunshine”. The workers went on board early morning and had cooling rest in the workshop at noon. Therefore, they had enough strength to work at night, which ensured the working hours and production schedule and avoided the influence of the high temperature.

The engine room’s temperature was up to 40-50 ℃, but every workers worked carefully. From screws, nuts to the cylinder liner, piston and cylinder head, there were not any slight errors happened. All projects passed the test and inspection on the first attempt, and the ship-owner and class surveyor were very satisfied with the repair work. Because of the hard work in the continuous high temperature days, the ship was well repaired as per scheduled.

It is reported that the repair work of M/V “YUE DAO JUN 1” included main engine, mud pump clutch and gear box, mud pump, mud pipe and conventional dock repair jobs, etc.
